Quietness Leads to the Success of Poker Pro David Chiu

Professional poker players have different strategies to outsmart their opponents. In the case of David Chiu, he uses his quietness to prevent his opponents from guessing what he is up to at poker tables.

David Chiu was born in China on August 23, 1960 but most of his life has been spent in the United States. Prior to becoming a professional poker player, he was an owner of a restaurant in Colorado. He then became a part-time card dealer in a casino in the same state. Apparently, this was the time when he started to become exposed to the world of poker. While working as a dealer, David Chiu exerted his effort to learn everything he could about poker. After a few years, he decided to try playing poker, which he was able to do successfully.

He was first recognized as one of the best professional poker players in 1996 when he joined the US$2,000 Limit Hold'em event of the World Series of Poker, which earned him US$396,000 as well as his first World Series of Poker bracelet.

David Chiu earned his second World Series of Poker bracelet in 1998 when he won US$205,200 in the US$3,000 Limit Hold'em event. In 2000, he again emerged victorious after participating in the US$5,000 Seven Card Stud event, which made him earn US$202,000 and his third World Series of Poker bracelet. This professional poker player seemed to be unstoppable as he won his fourth World Series of Poker bracelet in 2005. The event he participated in was the US$5,000 Omaha Hi/Lo event that made him take home a sum of US$347,410.

David Chiu has also participated in other events of the World Series of Poker wherein he did not win any bracelet. To name some, this professional poker player joined the US$10,000 No Limit Hold'em main event in 1996 wherein he placed tenth, he joined the same event in 2003 wherein he finished fifty-fifth, and again in the same event in 2006, where he only placed four hundred sixteenth.

This professional poker player has also been playing in events held by the World Poker Tour. As a matter of fact, he joined the first season of the tournament's Pro-Celebrity Invitational event and won third place. He lost against professional poker players Jerry Buss and Layne Flack.

David Chiu may not have emerged triumphant in some of his games but then, this professional poker player has definitely made a mark in the poker industry. Earning a total of four World Series of Poker bracelets and other poker achievements, he is definitely one of the world's best professional poker players. And yes, the quiet demeanor of David Chiu is his secret to success. By being quiet, this professional poker player gets to focus and concentrate on the behaviors and reactions of his opponents.

Well, if being quiet makes him succeed in poker, David Chiu probably doesn't mind keeping quiet for the rest of his life.
